Your Honda Model May Be Subject To A Recall

Please Contact Your Service Advisor ASAP

Honda Motor Company recently announced the recall of up to 1.1 million Honda and Acura models between model years 2001 and 2016. The recall is due to a defect detected in the Takata-brand airbag in the driver's seat.

Please contact your South Motors Honda Service Advisor as soon as possible to schedule an appointment and have the part replaced at no cost to you.

According to Honda, the Takata airbag's inflator could be subject to increased internal pressure which may cause the casing to rupture upon deployment. This could cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag cushion material possibly harming vehicle occupants. Honda is aware of one such event involving an Odyssey model; the driver's arm was injured.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that high heat, environmental moisture, and the airbag's age are associated with this defect.
