2020 Honda Passport Performance
For 2020, the Honda Passport is available in four trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. Each one is powered by the same reliable and fuel-efficient 3.5-liter V6 engine. It can produce 280 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 262 lb.-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. Power is applied to standard front-wheel drive by way of a nine-speed automatic transmission.
FWD is the standard with the Sport, however, all-wheel drive can be added with the Sport, EX-L, and Touring trim levels. The range-topping Elite is only available with AWD. According to EPA-estimates, the FWD configuration returns 20 mpg in the city, and 25 mpg highway. AWD Passports drop slightly to 19/24 mpg.
Rugged Yet Stylish Exterior Design
The 2020 Passport is quite similar to her big sister, the Honda Pilot – without the third row of seating. It provides its owner with more cargo and passenger space than the Honda CR-V and is nimbler than the pilot.
The Passport is an attractive midsize SUV. The gloss-black grille stands out to lead impressive exterior appointments. It also features standard LED fog lights, daytime running lights, low-beam headlights, and LED brake lights. On top, the Passport includes roof rails, rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, and a dual exhaust system with chrome-plated tips that enhances the rear of this stylish SUV.
Additionally, the available hands-free access power tailgate makes it easier to load groceries, cargo, or other items.
Spacious Interior with a Focus on Comfort
The interior of the new Honda Passport is just as impressive as its outer shell. The Passport offers an abundant 41 cubic feet of storage behind the second row, which among the leaders in this segment. Interior materials are high-quality, seating is comfortable, and amenities are plentiful.
Standard features offered with the Sport include tri-zone automatic climate control, a push-button start with keyless entry, a five-inch central display screen, and a seven-speaker sound system. A step up to the EX-L adds a power sunroof, rear power liftgate, power-adjustable and heated front seats. Also, the infotainment display gains three inches, leather upholstery, and Android Auto®, and Apple CarPlay® integration.
The Touring is designed for improved comfort and versatility. It receives heated rear seating, hands-free version of the power liftgate, and upgraded 10-speaker audio with integrated navigation.
The range-topping Elite includes every bell and whistle available with the 2020 Honda Passport, including a wireless smartphone charging pad, heated steering wheel, and ventilated front seats.
There are several package options that can spice up the interior of each trim level.
Setting the Standard for Safety
Honda is on the leading edge of safety. This fact is on full display with the standard driver-assisted safety and technology infused in the 2020 Honda Passport. Each trim level receives the Honda Sensing® Suite of advanced safety and driver-assisted technologies. These independent systems work together to improve on-road awareness.
The Collision Mitigation Braking System™ or CMBS helps control your Honda's braking by automatically applying pressure to the brakes when a frontal collision is unavoidable.
The Road Departure Mitigation System or RDM helps determine if you've crossed lanes without signaling. It can assist with the steering to help return to the designated lane or gently apply the brakes to maintain stability on the road.
Adaptive Cruise Control maintains a predetermined and safe following interval behind the vehicle in front. While the Lane Keeping Assist System keeps your Passport on the straight and narrow in the center of your lane.
