Honda Odyssey first to earn 5 Safety Stars The 2011 Odyssey, one of only two vehicles to first earn such a score, succeeded by delivering top safety in all three cash tests for every position in the vehicle. It joined the 2011 Accord as one of the few vehicles to date to get such an exemplary score. It is considered one of the federal governments "best-possible five-star Overall Vehicle Scorers" in combined frontal and side crash safety tests.
The tougher tests have been introduced as part of the government's New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) which is first being applied to 2011 model cars.
Part of its success in these tests is due to the ACE body structure used in all Hondas. Advanced Compatibility Engineering is an exclusive Honda design that enhances occupant safety in the vehicle via use of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This, coupled with standard Vehicle Stability Assist, traction control, ABS, three-row side curtain airbags with rollover sensor, dual-stage multiple threshold front airbags all combine to make the 2011 Honda Odyssey one of the safest vehicles on the road, according to these tests.
This is great news for those of us navigating the unpredictable Miami streets. These safety systems go a long way to getting our loved ones home safe and sound.
