What's new for the Civic in 2011

"This ninth generation imagining is a total redesign, introducing a slick, new aesthetic and a more fuel-efficient line thanks to two new offerings: The Civic HF and Civic Hybrid, both of which are reported to deliver more than 40 mpg on the highway.

Civics are popular here in South Florida, and it is easy to see why. Smart-looking, efficient and loaded with value, they are able to deliver reliable transportation for the long term. Build upon the concept of super efficiency, the new Civic HF is the most fuel-efficient gasoline-only Civic in the lineup for 2012. Equipped with a 1.8 liter i-VTEC engine, the Civic HF is a real fuel-sipper. It is able to deliver up to 41 mpg in highway driving. The Civic Hybrid, on the other hand, is outfitted for 2012 with a lithium-ion battery and a larger 1.5 liter i-VTEC, which allows it to enjoy up to 45 mpg on the highway as reported by Honda.

The Civic is the only model in the industry that can deliver on all fronts - fuel economy, sporty performance, smart packaging, alternative fuel and long-term value," said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda Motor Co.,Inc. "For the ninth-generation Civic, we are emphasizing improved fuel economy across the board, from the hybrid sedan to the sporty Si model." In addition to the HF and Hybrid model, all the other Civics in the lineup enjoy sharp new looks and improved efficiency. The offerings include a sedan and coupe as conventional gas models; the gas-only super efficient HF; two versions of the Si performance line; and a hybrid and a natural gas alternative. All of these are perfect compliments to the heavy driving we all do down here in our tropical sprawl.
