No matter how you slice the (dog) biscuit, Fido has a lot to give back. From Lassie to Marley, Hollywood has its share of canine entertainers.
Some canines have a little bit more weight on their shoulders on a daily basis. Since 1970, South Florida governmental agencies have been employing canines for high level assistance. Canine patrol bureaus searches for subjects and evidence, narcotics detection, explosive searches, lost person searches, cadaver searches, patrol call assistance, saturation patrol in districts.
Outside of public service through the government, many canines find fulfillment in working with the disabled. Service dogs assist the disabled and/or those with special needs perform many tasks that could otherwise prove extremely challenging and frustrating. Task include, but are not limited to: turning lights off and on, opening and closing doors, pulling wheelchairs, retrieving dropped objects, summoning help, and providing secure companionship.
But most of all, when you come home a night, there is always a happy smiling face to greet you. So take some time to thank Fido this week. The best way to let Fido experience the world in his element, is sharing yours, you know, the one with the Honda logo on it? On the way home from the dog park, he'll thank you and you'll appreciate the dog-friendly package as much as Fido, we promise.
