It's certainly a unique car - clean, clever and fuel-efficient, this little beast says does all the right things on paper and in person. Built upon the loveable style of the decades-gone Honda CRX, the 2011 Honda CRZ is a two-passenger coupe with an eco-twist for a more conscientious era. Sporty, responsive and agile, this little 6-speed manual hybrid throws out a moderate 122 HP, but the car is quick and athletic. Sporting a novel design both inside and out, the CR-Z adds to the character with an efficient "Three Mode" system to choose your preferred driving style instantly. The three backlit buttons give you the choice of Economy, Normal and Sport, with each setting altering a combination of throttle, response, steering and idle-stop time and overall power. If you want to be fuel conscious, you press "Economy". Pressing "Sport" will bestow additional speed and sporty driving, while "Normal" is a compromise between the two.
All and all, the flexibility provided by the 2011 Honda CRZ to seamlessly switch between athletic and conservative, the unique styling and top-notch build quality should allow it to become an affordable, sporty hybrid that strikes a wonderful balance between economy and sport driving. Look for it in the upcoming months at South Honda.
Take a look at the attached video for Honda's quirky European marketing spot - there's nothing wrong with your monitor - the piece is called "RGB" and is a based on both the Red Green Blue of the standard video format, and those three drive-quality selection buttons in the CRZ...
